General preparation
- Test all the lights. Replace bulbs if needed, and use the same color bulbs throughout.
- Do any visual repairs that would show in a photo.
- Declutter and remove anything that looks out of place.
- Family pictures do not have to come down. We will blur faces. You are welcome to remove portraits if you prefer.
- Clean the house, especially reflective surfaces.
Kitchen
- Clear extra items off the counters.
- Empty the sinks and put the dishes away.
- Hide the trash can in the garage or a storage area.
- Take artwork and magnets off the refrigerator.
Bathrooms
- Clear and clean the counters.
- Clean mirrors and glass showers.
- If you want the shower curtain open, hide what is inside the shower, including shampoo and soap.
- Hide toilet paper rolls and trash cans.
- Remove towels that are not decorative.
Bedrooms
- Put clothing and valuables away.
- Make the beds and tidy the rooms.
- Clear dressers and desks.
- Vacuum or sweep the floors.
Exterior
- Mow the lawn and put loose items away.
- Organize the patio furniture.
The bottom of the printed magnet is tight. If your copy of the magnet shows an extra exterior line, follow the magnet. When the house is not photo-ready on the appointment, the commercial instructions on the current site give you a choice: reschedule for a rescheduling fee, or shoot the property as it is.
